 The Overhead Equipment (OHE) Parameter Monitoring System (MODEL: OPMS Series) is a non- invasive technique of measurement of parameters of high voltage contact wires in Railway Electric Traction. It includes:
    • Height of the wire from the rail
    • Gradient of wire along the rail route
    • Stagger of the wire along the railway track
    • Wear and tear of the traction wire
    • Location of masts and overhead bridges

The measurements do not require power blockage and applicable for both static and dynamic (from a moving vehicle) conditions. The device is based on the state of the art technology. It is free from hazards due to high voltage and environments like bad weather. Measurements are immune to E M I and R F I.

The device consists of two optical sources and a CCD camera fixed at a specific angle with respect to each other. The complete assembly is fixed inside the viewing chamber of the inspection car on the viewing window. The video output of the camera is interfaced with a computer. Measurement accuracy is independent of speed of the inspection car up to 80 km/hr.
