| A two-phase double vortex atomizer adapted for generation of a low intensity liquid vortex and for generating a high intensity compressed air vortex, said low intensity liquid vortex and said high intensity compressed air vortex provided in operative communication such that the said low intensity liquid vortex is superimposed on the high intensity compressed air vortex to provide a swirling two-phase mix in a mixing dispersion chamber adjacent an outlet for atomized dispersion therethrough. The atomizer as above favours energy efficient atomization with reduced operating energy and is cost effective to obtain and use. The atomizer is adapted for atomization of liquid, solutions, suspensions and slurries which would be highly compact and versatile and have very high turndown ratio. It can operate with equal efficiency over a large liquid / gas flow rate without adding to the capital cost of additional equipment of specialized maintenance procedure. In the atomizer the spray can be held at any preferred disposition along with vertical nozzle axis thereby further improving the efficiency of atomization as well as operating flexibility. It is versatile having no moving parts, easy to obtain, install, operate and maintain and avoid the related limitations of conventional atomizers. |
