 Size control of the generated monodisperse aerosols of DOP in minor flow was achieved by controlling the concentration of liquid solution atomized and the minor flow rate. By varying the solution strength, a variation of 1.4 to 4.1 mm in mean aerodynamic diameter of DOP particles have been achieved; similarly, changing the minor flow rate produced a variation in mean aerodynamic diameter of DOP particles form 1.9 to 3.9 mm. All the particles remained monodisperse having exhibited a standard deviation of less than 1.5 which satisfies the criterion for the distribution to be narrowly monodisperse. The sampling time is set to 30 mins. To have statistically meaningful data, at least 28,000 particles are measured by the OPC during each sampling. Such designed control over the monodisperse mean diameter of generated particle is novel in nature and could be extremely useful in practical applications.
